Radiation protection concepts

WTI develops radiation protection concepts by evaluating decommissioning projects or the works in controlled areas with regard to preventive radiation protection measures. Previously determined activation and contamination activities, as well as 3D-MCNP models, serve as the basis for creating the radiation protection concepts. The creation includes, among other things:

• Shielding measures,
• Measures to prevent contamination spread and activity retention,
• Reduction of personnel dose from direct radiation,
• Determination of collective and individual doses, and
• Consideration of the prevention of incorporation.
